Narthex is happy to announce the opening of it’s artist run webspace.
During a given period of time, this website will become a host for an artist to do with as he pleases. Showing works of art on the internet and reflecting on how these are shown is an important part of what narthex is about. I invite artists to come and to try and explore the ways that the internet and its language can permit a different way of experiencing the links between artworks.
Francois Bousquet, will lay the first brick on a road I hope will be long, and fruitful of good shows!
“Einsenstein’s Facebook” by Francois Bousquet from 10/01/16-21/04/16
“His writings and films have continued to have a major impact on subsequent filmmakers. Eisenstein believed that editing could be used for more than just expounding a scene or moment, through a “linkage” of related images. Eisenstein felt the “collision” of shots could be used to manipulate the emotions of the audience and create film metaphors. He believed that an idea should be derived from the juxtaposition of two independent shots, bringing an element of collage into film.”
